Transportation: The Knik Group of the Alaska Chapter follows commuter rail issues between Anchorage, Mat-Su Valley, the airport and Dimond Center. We are working with newly formed Alaska Transportation Priorities Coalition to support ferries and road enhancements of existing road over proposed "roads and bridges to nowhere" (Knik Arm Bridge, Gravina Bridge, etc.) Check out the Sierra Club's "Fix It First" campaign to improve our transportation system instead of sprawling it out at www.sierraclub.org/sprawl/fixitfirst Renewable Energy: Sierra Club Alaska is a member of newly formed Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) which is currently preparing a resolution for the state legislature to introduce the group and gain the legislature's recognition as the group to rely upon to promote renewable energy in the state. REAP is a coalition of consumer and conservation groups, small utilities, Railbelt utilities, businesses and Native Alaskan interests whose goal is to increase the production of renewable energy in Alaska.
