We welcome volunteers!

With our groups centered in Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks, we also encourage folks from all Alaska communities to get involved. Interested individuals can hook up with these geographical groups and/or connect with issues-based activism.

Issues that need your support

For preserving the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge or Alaska Oil, Gas and Mining Issues please contact Dan Ritzman, dan.ritzman@sierraclub.org.

To help out with Alaska Forest Issues, including Prince William Sound, the Tongass National Forest Campaign, and the Chugach National Forest contact Mark Rorick, mprorick@alaska.net.

Community Based Activism

To get involved with your local community of Activists:
Knik Group - South and South Central people should contact Emily, emily@sierraclubalaska.org
Denali Group - Golden Valley to the North Slope area folks should contact Lindsey, lindsey@sierraclubalaska.org
Juneau Group - Southeast Alaska people should contact Mark Rorick, mprorick@alaska.net

All groups work on statewide issues, while each group can decide to focus on local issues. For example, the Juneau group spearheads the campaign opposing a Juneau road, and the Knik group follows the progression of the proposed Knik Arm Bridge.
